RULES & CONDITIONS: All entries must feature significant Irish creative input and/or represent issues pertaining to Ireland and the Irish. Works in 35mm, 16mm, and video formats are accepted, but the submitting film/videomaker must be either producer or director. All awards (including airfares and accomodations) will be made in these names. Awards are not transferable and are limited to one person per entry. CRITERIA: The festival will not accept commercial, industrial, institutionally commissioned, promotional (e.g. public services announcements, promo reels, recruitment, or public relations), or training/instructional/how-to works. All works must have been completed within the last two years, i.e. since January 2005. Media works of all lengths are eligible and there is no limit to the number works that an individual may submit. While a series of works is not eligible, an individual work from a series may be entered. All entrants must be at least 18 years of age to enter. AWARDS: Winners recieve a beautifully designed glass trophy (courtesy of Duiske Irish Handcut Glass) as well as airline tickets and hotel accommodation for a two night stay in Boston during the festival. Awards are given to the director or producer of the winning work and are non-transferable. ENTRY FEE: We are sensitive to the fact that the majority of filmmakers do not always have the funds to cover entry fees and we make every effort to ensure that the entry fee is as low as possible. The $50 covers the costs of administering the awards and of the prizes offered. No profits are made off of your entry fee! |
